Spotted for sale on Ebay UK in December 2022, this ultra rare XJ40 Jaguarsport is one of just 991 built. There's something timeless about the XJ40 sedans - and the ultimate version was the JaguarSport XJR - sitting at the top of the XJ40 performance tree.
It had uprated suspension (including revised Bilstein dampers), weightier steering and a tuned engine (251bhp and 278lb ft torque). It was capable of the 0-60mph sprint in 7.7secs, and had a top speed 146mph.
As the seller noted: when you consider that Jaguar only made 991 4.0-litre XJR examples, that makes this fine low mileage example exceedingly rare. The seller also noted that the previous owners Jaguar specialist has misplaced the fully stamped service book, however there is written testament from the last owner of its service history along with the last service invoice totalling £1500.
