Unfortunately for me it's time my JCW finds a new home. Our family has recently added another member and the Cooper S is just too small as our second car.
This is a 2004 John Cooper Works edition, finished in the popular Electric Blue Metallic, with white roof. The trim is full two-tone blue-bleck leather, blue carpet, and factory CD stacker system and BMW infotainment screen (and originally had Satellite Navigation through a CD-ROM). It also has a timber burl walnut style dash (a rare option as opposed to the standard silver). This car was very highly optioned when new, and would have retailed for over $50,000 in 2004 (noting that the JCW option itself cost $9,600, and the sat-nav was a $3,500 option. The car remains original and unmodified, and I am looking for a proper enthusiast buyer who knows what it is and wants to take care of it the same way I and the prior owners have.
For those that aren't aware, the John Cooper Works (JCW) edition cars are a high performance variant of the New Mini Cooper S which in this case produced 200hp: Among other changes, they had a revised cylinder head (enlarged exhaust ports), 11% reduction supercharger pulley, 1-step colder spark plugs, JCW cat-back exhaust system, replacement supercharger with a teflon coated core, and a re-mapped ECU. The JCWs are serious hot-hatches.
This example has a full and regular service history, and at the age of nearly 22 years has only 88,000km on the clock. I've been into classic Minis all my life, but never owned a new Mini until this one. The first generation of the new Mini was always the best in my opinion. I purchased this car a couple of years ago and it's been the most fun car I've ever owned - much more fun than even the originals. The JCW package makes it very quick, and the sound of the supercharger is fantastic.
Since I've had the car I've completed a lot of maintenance work. It's had a new roof lining installed professionally by Redman Motor Trimming in 2024. It's had new engine mounts, shocks, and a few other minor parts replaced (no expense has been spared and all parts used have been genuine BMW Mini). All receipts for work done come with the car's file. Since I owned this S, I had it regularly serviced by Rob at Star Automotive in Gosford, who I trust to look after all my cars. As you will see from the records in the images, servicing has been completed every 5,000 - 8,000 Ks.
Prior to my ownership (and a large part of the reason I purchased this S), was its extensive service history by previous owners, including much recent maintenance with Pacific Motors at Pymble. The prior owner (who I presume only used it as a weekend car), would often have services completed well under 5,000km intervals. The car has proven to be extremely reliable for me - it has never let me down.
The car has been kept undercover all of my ownership, and given the condition of the paint I presume that all prior owners have done the same. The pictures tell the story, but please don't hesitate to come and have a closer look in person.
Registration expires in December 2026. Inspections can be arranged in the evenings during the week, or on weekends. Serious buyers only.
